If I were given the opportunity to utilize the 10,000 hour theory, I would want the ability to speak fluent Arabic. Mastering the art of the Arabic language is considered to be a very rigorous and intemperate acquisition. As an individual, I have no preference of what branch of Arabic I learn, as there are many different forms. In fact, I would attempt to ascertain the language as a whole!
Fluency in this language would not only increase my knowledge of the culture, but more importantly open up beneficial and virtuous job opportunities. Ever since I had become alert and mindful of all the turmoil the United States had faced with Middle Eastern countries, I had become instantly intrigued. My aspiration of mastering this language would be to attain a job at a federal government organization, such as the FBI or the CIA. I have always wanted to be apart of the nations most intelligent individuals, and also performing this job to the best of my abilities, for the greater good of the United States.
Based on research I have done, the FBI is in dire need of employees who have the ability to speak a fluent Middle Eastern language. Now that I have the goal to reach, I just need to put in the work to attain it.
Wow Chris I really like this interesting goal of yours. I think it is smart to work towards mastering something you don't typically spend time doing already, so you won't grow bored of it so easily. I'm sure learning the Arabic language would provide you with a lot of brand new and potentially interesting knowledge. Also, I could definitely see you working for the FBI! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteTo go along with Josh i agree that your goal is very interesting and can open a lot of jobs in the future. The Arabic Launguage would be a "a very rigorous and intemperate acquisition" like you said but i think you have the work ethic to reach it.
